Chelsea chose Bonfire Night to ignite their fans’ title dreams with visitors Everton cast as Guy Fawkes.

Boss Antonio Conte stoked the flames from the dugout while his front three of Eden Hazard, Diego Costa and Pedro were firelighters-in-chief reducing the Toffees’ rear-guard which had conceded just eight goals all season prior to this massacre to ashes.

But apart from those three, here's how Get West London rated the rest.

Thibaut Courtois 6/10

Courtois probably had the best seat in the house to take in the breath-taking display from those in front of him.

I say seat, he might as well have had one. All that was needed was the popcorn to complete a night at the cinema.

Watchful: Cesar Azpilicueta (L)

Cesar Azpilicueta 7/10

A quietly efficient night for the Spaniard who has made the adjustment to being part of a back three rather than a four, a change more challenging for him as a full-back than for the natural centre-backs alongside him.

Gary Cahill 7/10

What could have been a taxing evening marking Romelu Lukaku turned into an uneventful one with the Belgium striker denied any meaningful service by his teammates. As with Azpilicueta there will be tougher tests ahead, but this was a proud night to sport the armband.

Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, John Terry, David Luiz and Everton's Romelu Lukaku at the final whistle

David Luiz 7/10

Just the sort of night Luiz loves where he can bring the ball out and show a bit of flair. More performances like this will mean club captain Terry doing a lot more watching from the bench.

Marcos Alonso 8/10

One of the key men in terms of making the 3-4-3 formation work, Alonso was rewarded for his frequent marauding down the left with a first goal in Chelsea colours. He should have been in the assists column too for a wonderful ball to the back stick which saw Moses strike the woodwork.

Pedro 9/10 (man of the match)

Some may feel it has taken a while, but Pedro was a revelation here.

The Spaniard destroyed Brian Oviedo down the right, so much so the Everton man was hooked over 35 minutes. His replacement was similarly chastened as a goal and two assists later Pedro proved cream of a great crop.

Eden Hazard of Chelsea scores his sides first goal

Nemanja Matic 8/10

On this evidence, it is easy to see why Cesc Fabregas has been pushed to the margins at Stamford Bridge.

Matic was a huge presence in central midfield forcing error after error from Everton counterparts Tom Cleverley and Gareth Barry and claiming an assist to boot.

N'Golo Kante 7/10

Complimentary to his partner in the engine room. Probably not as noticed as Matic because he lacks that physical presence, but does the simple things really well. His summer transfer from Leicester looks money well spent. A second Premiership winner’s medal in succession?

Victor Moses 8/10

The other wide man in the 3-4-3 Moses was frightening quick and frequently avoided albeit inept tackling from the out of sorts visitors. His willingness to backtrack with relish when necessary – which wasn’t often – will have particularly pleased his manager.

Chelsea's Eden Hazard celebrates scoring his side's fourth goal of the game during the Premier League match at Stamford Bridge, London.

Eden Hazard 9/10

Impish wizardry came in abundance from the Belgian, flourishing again under Conte. Nominally on the left of the front three, he scored the first from out there, but played a freer role than that, sometimes sparkling through the middle and his second goal from the right flank was magical

Diego Costa 8/10

All that is good about Costa was on show.

Everton probably regretted drawing blood from him in an early tackle. Credit to the Spanish international he reacted in the perfect way with a display of power and purpose. Possibly fortunate his goal stood, but might have had several more.

Gareth Barry and Ross Barkley are left dejected after Chelsea score
