Chelsea may end up having to park the bus at Man City tonight – just don't expect Jose Mourinho to admit he has a premeditated plan to halt the Etihad juggernaut.

The Blues' boss picked an awkward moment to criticise West Ham for their blanket defence at Stamford Bridge last week, given that his side might have to do the same at City.

He says he intends to attack, but accepts that sometimes having the best intentions count for nothing if you come under pressure.

“I don’t know if they don’t or if they can’t,” Mourinho said about the failure of other teams to make a dent in Manuel Pellegrini's perfect home record. “Maybe they want and they can’t.

“I want to attack them, I can tell you that, but maybe after 10 or 20 minutes you realise Jose is saying he wants to attack and he doesn’t. If I don’t it’s because I can’t. I don’t know if other teams refuse to attack or they can’t do it.

“Are we going to play with one striker? Yes. We are not going to play without a striker. Are we going to play with three central defenders because they have two fantastic strikers? We’re going to play with two. We think more than us than them.

“I don’t think a lot about them to be fair. I’m not going to build my team because they’re very good at this and that.”
