Diego Costa and Pedro will be given late fitness tests ahead of Chelsea’s crunch showdown with Liverpool tomorrow.

Star striker Costa limped out of the midweek Capital One Cup exit to Stoke City with a rib injury and was admitted to hospital.

Pedro has been absent in recent weeks with a minor problem.

Manager Jose Mourinho wants to give the pair every opportunity to prove their fitness for the Stamford Bridge clash and won’t be rushed into making a decision.

Minor niggle: Chelsea's Pedro

“Courtois and Ivanovic are out and Pedro and Diego we will wait. The others are fine,” he said.

“Pedro and Diego I am hopeful, if not I don’t take them to the hotel.

“It is always difficult for me to find the percentage (how fit) it is more about the confidence of the players.”

Speculation continues to swirl over the future of Mourinho and reports suggest the Blues could sack the beleaguered boss if Liverpool add another defeat to their growing list of losses this weekend.
