Chelsea legend Gianfranco Zola believes Roman Abramovich has found the right man to bring success to Stamford Bridge in Italy boss Antonio Conte.

Conte is set to take over from interim boss Guus Hiddink this summer after the European Championships in France.

Abramovich will expect his new number to bring instant success to the team and Zola is certain he has the European pedigree to succeed in the Premier League and Champions League.

"He is the right choice for a strong, prestigious club," said the former Chelsea forward. "(Conte) knows how to work with champions and talented players.

"He demands a clear communication - if he tells you that you need to eat the grass, then you've got to give him what he wants perfectly.

"Abramovich wants to win the league and he wants to win the Champions League, and he's going to have the right man for that objective."

Zola, who scored 59 goals in 229 for the Blues, warned that Conte would be wise to get a grip with the English language before he arrives to prepare him for the task of facing the media.

"The English media is demanding,” Zola. “He's going to have to build a relationship of mutual respect.

“And then the sooner you learn the language, the better it is, you can't work through interpreters."
