Jose Mourinho said he felt betrayed following Chelsea's 2-1 defeat at Leicester City last night.

Goals from Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez sent Leicester back to the top of the Premier League and sent Chelsea crashing to a ninth defeat of the season.

And while Mourinho was disappointed with his side's defending, the Blues boss also feels a lack of goals from his strikers is not helping an already sorry situation.

He said: “I feel my work was betrayed, if that's the right word. My best quality is to read the opposition and identify their qualities, so to concede two goals like we did is unacceptable for me.

“We worked for four days on this match. We prepared for everything related to the opponent, identified the movements where they have scored almost all their goals from.

“There are four types of situation I identified, and we conceded from two of them. The players had all the information in training – you can ask them, they are honest people.

“I think they listen and I think they are good enough. I don't want to focus on the goals because in the last four or five games we have been defensively good.

“We have another problem, and it's the amount of goals our attacking players are scoring – or not scoring in this case. When we make mistakes and concede we are punished because we are not scoring.”
