Fulham will be without their Brazilian playmaker for two months after Lucas Piazon suffered a fractured jaw in his side's 2-2 draw with Cardiff.

The 23-year-old lasted 25 minutes in South Wales after sustaining the injury when he fouled Kadeem Harris - picking up a yellow card in the process.

The club released a statement after the game confirming that the Brazilian had suffered a fractured jaw and that the Chelsea loanee will be out until April following surgery.

It read: "Following an injury sustained in the first half of our 2-2 draw with Cardiff City, the club can confirm that Lucas Piazon underwent surgery on his jaw on Saturday evening.

"A rehabilitation period of approximately two months is expected. Further information will be [released] in due course."

After the game, manager Slavisa Jokanovic said: "Lucas is the worst news for us. He's broken his jaw - and there will be a longer period out for him.

"Floyd Ayite also has concerns."

Fulham play Preston on Saturday and the Lilywhites are on a decent run of form of late, having lost only twice in the league since the turn of the year and now find themselves only a point and two places off Fulham.
