Champions Chelsea have created a WhatsApp group for their loan players.

The Blues have an astonishing 34 loanees plying their trade across the globe this term.

Even high-profile signings like Colombian ace Juan Cuadrado have been sent out to other clubs to gain more match action.

Given Chelsea’s list of loans is now more than double the length of any other Premier League club, it can be difficult to keep track of who is playing where each weekend.

One of the Stamford Bridge 34, Patrick Bamford , has remained in the English top-flight by securing a season-long switch to London rivals Crystal Palace.

Bamford, who has yet to make a league start under Alan Pardew despite firing Middlesbrough to the verge of promotion last season, says the boys have a way of staying in touch.

“We've actually got a Chelsea loan WhatsApp group,” he told The Sun.

“The loan department set it up and allowed people in.

“Sometimes it drains your battery when everyone is messaging each other. We always keep in contact and then you have your close friends that you speak to.

“If someone does something special at the weekend, one of the computer technology guys from the loan department will send it all out after the weekend.”

Bamford also revealed the club also employ a psychologist to deal with their loan players and he has been told to add more of an edge to his game like Spanish international forward Diego Costa.

That didn’t stop him winning the Championship Player of the Year gong last term though and banging in 17 goals for Boro on the road to Wembley.
