CHELSEA fans are split over the sacking of Andre Villas-Boas .

Saturday's defeat at West Brom was the final straw for owner Roman Abramovich , who gave AVB the bullet just nine months into a three-year contract.

Rafa Benitez and Jose Mourinho have been installed as early favourites to take over at Stamford Bridge, but some fans felt Villas-Boas needed more time.

Comments on our Twitter page, Blues Chronicle, were mixed about AVB's dismissal.

“Can't see it changing under someone else,” tweeted mowingmeadows. “Players should take a look at themselves and realise they play for the club!

Eddie_cfc agreed: “Flipping ridiculous. Can't believe this. We never learn. I'd rather they changed the people at the Boardroom instead.”

However, a section of supporters in SW6 feel it was time for Villas-Boas to go after an alarming run of results.

Cfc_clive said: “Football management is far more about man-managing than being a geek with an iPad. AVB failed at that.”

Bridgeviews added: “Reality is, AVB provided little/no evidence that he was up to the job in terms of man management, tactics or vision.”
