It will be a case of deja vu for Chelsea when they take on Schalke in the Champions League group stages again this season.

The Blues played the German side at the same stage last season, beating them 3-0 both home and away on their way to the semi finals, where they were knocked out by Atletico Madrid.

Schalke were the first team to be drawn out to join Chelsea in Group G in this afternoon's Champions League draw, but the next two out were less familiar names.

Sporting Lisbon, great rivals of the other Portuguese sides Blues boss Jose Mourinho has managed, Benfica and Porto, have never met Chelsea in the Champions League.

Not have Slovenian side Maribor, but the Blues did announce a youth link up with the club, who knocked Celtic out in the qualifiers, four years ago.
