Gary Cahill has committed his long-term future to Chelsea by agreeing a new contract with the Premier League champions.

The England centre-back has put pen to paper on a fresh four-year deal that will keep him at Stamford Bridge until at least 2019.

Cahill has been a regular for club and country since arriving from Bolton in January 2012, going on to win every major club honour with the Blues.

He said: "I’m really pleased to commit my future to Chelsea and it’s great the club has put their faith in me.

"I have achieved a lot here and I hope I can keep on learning, helping the team and lifting trophies over the next four years."

Cahill won the Champions League and FA Cup in his first season in west London before adding the Europa League the following year.

A Premier League winner’s medal was a reward for a fine season last term as he earned a spot in the PFA Team of the Year for the second season in succession.
