Jose Mourinho has hailed Petr Cech as 'the best goalkeeper in the world' on the eve of the Chelsea's number one's 300th league appearance for the Blues.

And the Blues' boss says he has no immediate plans to end Thibaut Courtois' loan spell at Atletico Madrid to begin the process of replacing his ever-reliable stopper.

“I think we have the best goalkeeper in the world and the best young goalkeeper in the world,” said Mourinho. “I don't think many people will disagree with me.

“He [Cech] came here after Carlo [Cudicini] was voted player of the year for Chelsea. Petr came here very very young and immediately, in the first game of the season – Chelsea-Man United, clean sheet. The first clean sheet in his book full of clean sheets. I don't know how many, but the book is full of clean sheets.

“The guy is fantastic. The work ethic is amazing. I think he’s [still] very young at 31.

“It’s a very good problem for us. Our goal is safe and financially we are also very safe because their value in the market is the value of the best. Teams with a problem are teams without good goalkeepers.

“We have other guys giving the security we need to allow Courtois to be on loan – Mark Schwarzer and Jamal Blackman.”

Asked whether he is worried he might lose Coutois if Barcelona pursue an apparent interest with a bid, Mourinho added: “At this moment, I don’t think about it, to be fair.

"It doesn’t worry me because our situation is fantastic. We control the situation, not Barcelona, not Atletico, not another team that can be interested in one of our goalkeepers.”
