Charlie MacDonald admits postponing Brentford's game at Dagenham & Redbridge on Monday night was the right decision.
But the striker had nothing but sympathy for the Bees fans who had a wasted trip across London.
The League Two clash, due to be televised on Sky Sports, was called off when a generator failed, plunging the ground into darkness.
MacDonald said: "It's never happened to me before, but I've heard through the grapevine that its happened to Dagenham before this season.
"It was difficult. The lads have ways they prepare for certain games. You take your energy drinks etc at certain times, so if it went ahead it would've been a bit of a shambles really.
"I'm disappointed for the fans. They've paid a lot of money to come over her, but it hasn't happened for them. It's hard on them with the credit crunch and what not. It's a wasted journey and money out of their pockets.
"We were flat against Chesterfield and we wanted to put that right. We were raring to go and had just finished our warm up when the lights went out, so it's very disappointing."
