Cesc Fabregas reckons he is getting back to his best after helping Chelsea beat his old club Arsenal at the Emirates.

The Spanish international was booed by the large majority of fans in the north London stadium but showed them he wasn’t affected with a fine midfield performance.

His fellow countryman Diego Costa got the only goal of the game to give Chelsea the bragging rights, with Per Mertesacker’s early dismissal helping send the points back to west London.

And Fabregas, booed by his own fans at times this term, sees this win as a real high point in an otherwise disappointing campaign so far.

"When it was 11 vs11 we were on top,” he explained. “They had a chance with Mathieu Flamini before half-time but for the first 20-25 minutes we were very good.

"I am nearly there. I am feeling sharp and my brain is quicker than the last few months.

“I feel under pressure but I am in more control. My team-mates make it easier for me. In the last year this is the best moment for me."

Meanwhile, Blues skipper John Terry is staying hopeful of sneaking into the Champions League qualification spots come May.

The centre-half was pleased with a clean sheet and the three points at the Emirates and has urged his team-mates to keep the faith.

He said: “Anything is doable. Everybody is beating everybody else. It is a tough league and if we put a run together we have a good chance (of fourth). We will fight until there are no points to play for.”
