Petr Cech says Chelsea are waiting for Liverpool to fall at the final hurdle as the Premier League title race enters the home straight.

The Merseysiders top the league, two points ahead of Chelsea, with both sides having four games to play.

Manchester City are still in the mix though, having lost at Anfield this weekend, as the focus now switches to Chelsea's game at Liverpool in a fortnight.

Cech, who kept another clean sheet as Blues won 0-1 at Swansea on Sunday, says Chelsea are prepared for anything and are waiting to pounce on any error elsewhere.

He said: “We have players who have played big games. If it's going to be a help for the next games – I don't know, in football you never know.

“Sometimes when you have a young team full of enthusiasm they don't feel any pressure, they just play – and you have it like that.

“Nobody expected anything from Liverpool. They are in contention, that's why they play without pressure so far.

“But let's see how they're going to cope when it comes to the last hurdle and they will have to jump over it.

“They've been doing remarkably well, but we are still there around.

“We have things in our hands. We need to wait for one slip-up from Man City, but if we win our games I believe we have a chance.”

Chelsea's final four Premier League games see them host Sunderland and Norwich, while travelling to Liverpool and Cardiff.

As well as the visit of Chelsea, Liverpool face Newcastle at home, and Crystal Palace and Norwich away.

Manchester City have six remaining games: home to Sunderland, West Brom, Aston Villa and West Ham,  and away at Crystal Palace and Everton.
