PETR Cech says he is looking forward to avenging last season's Super Cup humbling in his home city of Prague.

Blues were thumped 4-1 by Atletico Madrid in last season's play-off between the winners of the Champions League and Europa League in Monaco.

This season the prestige event goes on the road for the first time and is scheduled for August 30 in the Czech capital Prague.

Cech said: “I’m really happy that we won the Europa League because I said after the huge disappointment last year (with Atletico) in the Super Cup, that we should try to win the Europa League because this will give us another ticket for the Super Cup.

“It will be in Prague, which is for me even better because I will get to play at home, if selected.

“So we will get the chance to lift the Super Cup if we win the game. After the disappointment of last year, this is another important and positive thing.”

The Blues will face Bayern Munich in Prague after they edged out German rivals Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League final at Wembley on Saturday.
