Tom Carroll hopes his spell at QPR can help force his way into Tottenham's first-team plans.

The ball-playing midfielder has featured 24 times for Rangers since arriving on loan in September.

Carroll, who has made 23 appearances for Spurs, still has two years remaining on his contract at White Hart Lane and is determined to carve out a career with the north Londoners.

However, the England U21 star says he would be willing to discuss a permanent move to Loftus Road if he's deemed surplus to requirements by his parent club.

He said: "I want to make it at Tottenham, that's my main aim. I've been there since I was eight so it's obviously a club close to my heart.

"I'm contracted at Spurs and it's down for the two clubs to talk. QPR's a great club and I've enjoyed my time here, so we'll see what happens."
