QPR made it two defeats in a week after losing 2-1 against top of the table Cardiff City.

Matt Smith rose highest to give the Hoops the lead against the run of play, before a defensive mix-up led former-QPR man Junior Hoilett to get the equaliser, before Sol Bamba nodded in a goal to give the Bluebirds the lead.

But who came out on top in our half time player ratings?

Three stars – Alex Smithies

Putting aside the defensive mix-up with Nedum Onuoha, Smithies was outstanding.

Despite conceding two goals, the amount of saves he made was crucial for the Hoops, who could easily have conceded three or four in the second period.

Two stars – Darnell Furlong

Had the difficult task of marking Junior Hoilett who was been excellent from start to finish. He coped very well for the most part, making a number of key challenges to keep the winger’s threat to a minimum, and looked confident going forward, getting the better of Joe Bennett on a number of occasions.

One star- Luke Freeman

Another classy display from Freeman. He shows so much confidence and skill going forward and his cross for Matt Smith’s goal showed excellent vision. What’s equally impressive is his ability to get stuck in and win a challenge against far more combative players, and his desire to get on the ball and make something happen.
