Cardiff City have given AFC Wimbledon permission to field Ben Wilson in tomorrow's FA Cup first round tie with Forest Green Rovers.

The on-loan goalkeeper has been given the green light to play against the Bluebirds as he continues to fill the void left by James Shea between the sticks.

Wilson has yet to taste defeat in Dons colours and will be hoping to push Wimbledon into round three by keeping another clean sheet against the club currently occupying top spot in the non-league pyramid.

“As soon as the draw was made we watched a couple of DVDs on Forest Green and got scouting reports on them,” Wimbledon assistant boss Neil Cox told Dons Player.

“It is a difficult game for us and like a normal League 2 match. We are going to pick our strongest squad available.

“We will be going for it and trying to win the game so that we can get a run going like last year. We don’t want to be a team on the receiving end of an upset and on the back page on a Sunday.

“This is the FA Cup and it’s everyone’s dream to play in it. We have had three wins in a row and we want to keep that going.”

Sean Rigg is also in contention to face Rovers, the club he followed as a boy and played for as a youngster , having recovered from a dead leg.
