A Craig Noone strike just before half time knocked AFC Wimbledon out of the Capital One Cup at Cardiff City this evening.

Noone struck home a superb free kick in first half injury time to put the hosts in front with what proved to be the only goal of the game.

Sammy Ameobi had gone close for Cardiff just before but was denied by James Shea, the Dons stopper also keeping out a Fabio effort after the break.

In the closing stages, Shea made another fantastic stop, this time to deny Kenwyne Jones, while Tom Elliott came close to forcing extra time when he headed against the Cardiff cross bar.

But it was the Dons who went out, leaving them to focus on Saturday's League Two trip to Crawley.
