Gary Cahill is expected to avoid any punishment from the FA for his post-match comments about the match officials after Chelsea's 2-2 draw at Swansea City.

Cahill fumed after the Swans' second goal was allowed to stand by referee Andre Marriner despite what appeared a clear foul from Leroy Fer in the build-up.

The Blues central defender approached Marriner after the match for an answer and told reporters afterwards that Fer’s goal should not have stood after a foul so obvious “you could be sat on the moon and see it”.

But according to reports, the FA are unlikely to take any action against Cahill.

Their rules state that players and managers are allowed to criticise a referee as long as it is within reason and does not imply bias, question their integrity or make offensive and personal comments.

"It's a clear foul," Cahill added in his interview with BBC Sport .

"I'm frustrated. Come on, seriously! I took the touch away from him, he came through the back of me. It was clear as day and seeing it back has made me even more angry.

"It's all fun and games for the fans isn't it but it's the players who suffer. That kills me and kills my team. We have dropped two points which is massive in this league.

"Look at my face! It's incredible. I said to the referee there's three of you that can see that. There were two fouls, and between the officials they have said that they couldn't see it. For me that is incredible."
