Marinus Dijkhuizen was a happy man after Brentford saw off 10-man Bristol City in a ding-dong tussle thanks to goals from Alan Judge, a Derrick Williams own goal, Andre Gray and Philipp Hofmann.

However, there were blows for the Bees with injuries to James Tarkowski during the contest and Jota, from last wek.

On the red card:

Luke Freeman is sent off

"I thought the red card was justified because it was dangerous play and it certainly worked positively for us."

On the performance:

Goal: Alan Judge finds the net

"Bristol City play good football and were better than us for the first 35 minutes. But I felt we made the man advantage tell in the second half.

"I thought we took our goals well in what was always going to be a tough game. It had not been the best of weeks of us, so I am very happy to end it with a win."

On Andre Gray:

Uncertain future: Andre Gray after Derrick Williams' own goal

"Andre Gray showed what an asset he is to us and I am desperate to keep him. But sometimes money talks and it is not in my hands.

"If anything he has added to his value with this performance. I have two very good strikers and would love to keep them together."

On James Tarkowski's injury:

“James got an elbow, I didn’t see it. His nose was badly broken so he had to come off. Jack O’Connell I’m happy with. He hasn’t played a lot but he has to be ready.”

On Jota's injury:

Injured: Jota

"Jota is out for three or four months. That’s a lot of quality players (Andreas Bjelland was ruled out for the season) injured in one week so I’m very happy with the result.”
