Queens Park Rangers were well beaten by Bristol City at Ashton Gate today.

Marlon Pack opened the scoring, given the freedom of the Hoops box to lash home, before a woeful attempt at playing offside allowed Jamie Paterson to stroll through and make it 2-0.

Idrissa Sylla grabbed a late consolation with almost the last kick of the game.

Here's how the Hoops players rated.

Alex Smithies - Good claim from a high ball early on, could do nothing with Marlon Pack's drilled strike from just inside the box, or Jamie Paterson's second. 6

Jake Bidwell - Was given a tough time by Josh Brownhill and Tammy Abraham in the first half, but stuck to his task well. 6

Nedum Onuoha in action against Bristol City

Nedum Onuoha - Too slow and sloppy for the first goal and tried to play a poor offside for the second and was punished. Did throw his body on the line though and had a much better second half. 6

Joel Lynch - All over the place in the first half. Cut open all too easily for the second goal. Did not look at all comfortable and too often pumped the ball aimlessly forward. 5

Pawel Wszolek - Always looking to make that forward run in the first half, but could not make anything happen. 6

Matt Smith - Little service, little impact, although he did clear a goalbound Josh Brownhill header off the line. 6

Massimo Luongo - Went into the book for a cynical foul on Tammy Abraham as he tried to break. Could not get things moving. 5

Luke Freeman in action

Luke Freeman - Some neat touches in the first half, one exquisite ball over the defence for Wszolek that ended with a chance for Manning. Put himself about too. 6

Yeni NGbakoto - Was unlucky not to score at the start of the second half when Fielding pulled off a magnificent save, but otherwise he was anonymous. 5

Darnell Furlong - Little impact and was hooked at half-time. 5

Ryan Manning - Bright, as ever, might have done better with a chance from the edge of the box in the first half, but sent it over the top. 6

Subs:

Conor Washington (on for Furlong 45) - Almost an immediate impact, getting to the byline and cutting back for NGbakoto, only for Fielding to pull off a wonder save. Hit the side netting and did brilliantly to set up Idrissa Sylla for the consolation goal. 7

Idrissa Sylla (on for Smith 69) - Very little involvement, until he popped up with a consolation goal. 5

Jamie Mackie (on for NGbakoto 71) - Barely had a touch. 5
