MATTHEW Briggs hopes he can extend his loan at Peterborough United until the end of the season.

The Fulham left-back made the switch to London Road this week, penning an initial one-month deal with the Championship club.

Briggs is third in the pecking order at Craven Cottage and has been restricted to just two appearances in the Premier League this season.

And he admits he would be willing to extend his stay with Peterborough if it goes well.

He said: "At Fulham I wasn't really playing much so I just wanted to get out on loan.

"I kept telling the manager every day I need to go and play games, because obviously I was on the bench or not in the squad, so I just need to get experience under my belt.

"I wanted to get fitness as well and this is the perfect opportunity for me. It's a month to start with and then we can extend it afterwards if all parties agree. I would be interested in extending it if everything works out.”
