Brett Johnson will not be Matt Heywood's replacement if Brentford FC sign him.

Andy Scott has revealed the Northampton Town defender will not be departed skipper Heywood's replacement even if a deal goes through, and that he is still looking for an experienced centre-back.

Johnson has been training with the club this week and will have a chance to shine in tomorrow night's pre-season friendly against Ipswich.
