Brentford midfielder John Swift was substituted after 27 minutes after sustaining an injury during the Three Lions' game with Switzerland.

The on loan Chelsea man was making just his second England U21 appearance and he suffered a cut during the contest which ended his game early.

The extent of the injury is not yet known but it will add to the Bees' fears after Josh McEachran reportedly suffered a recurrence of the foot injury he suffered at the start of the season.

Swift has come under fire in recent weeks over a controversial Instagram post which saw him omitted from the Bees' squad for their 1-0 defeat to Blackburn last Saturday.

Elsewhere, Alan Judge made his Ireland debut on Friday as the Boys in Green beat the senior Swiss side.

The midfielder played the entire 90 minutes and impressed on his debut, which made he described on Twitter as a night he would not forget.

Judge could also face Slovakia on Tuesday night before reporting back to the Bees' Jersey Road training ground.

Lasse Vibe played half an hour in Denmark's 2-1 win over Iceland at the MCH Arena, while Sergi Canos played 45 minutes of Spain U19s 1-1 draw with Georgia.

Brentford's next league game is at Nottingham Forest next Saturday.
