Kenwyne Jones broke Brentford hearts with a stoppage-time winner for Cardiff City in Wales.

The Bees battled back from two goals down to draw level before late fireworks from Jones saw the second-half rescue mission scuppered in the pouring rain.

Tony Watts fired Cardiff into the lead before Jones’ first of the night put the Bluebirds firmly in the driving seat in the Welsh capital.

Goals from Jake Bidwell and John Swift saw a spirited Bees side push the hosts all the way and sparked widespread boos from the Cardiff faithful.

But they were cheering with seconds to go as the former Sunderland striker grabbed his second of the night and stole all three points for the home team.

Meanwhile, Brentford manager Dean Smith will have an early chance for a reunion with his old Walsall pals after they won their FA Cup second round replay with Chesterfield on penalties.
