Martin Fillo staked a claim for a first-team spot with a hat-trick for Brentford's under-21s against Charlton Athletic this afternoon.

The Czech winger hasn't featured for the Bees since the beginning of October and has been made available for loan by boss Mark Warburton.

However, the Viktoria Plzen winger, who was an unused substitute in Saturday's stalemate at Carlisle, gave Warburton food for thought with a well-taken treble against the young Addicks.

His haul couldn't prevent Brentford going down 6-3 to the Championship side at Sparrows Lane.

Defender Scott Barron also stepped up his recovery from a niggling hip problem with a run out.
