Sergi Canos believes that Brentford are growing as a club on and off the pitch.

The Spaniard spent last season on loan with the Bees from Liverpool where he scored the club’s goal of the season at Reading in December 2015.

The west Londoners could not meet the Reds’ asking price in the summer to make a move permanent and he joined Norwich where he had a frustrating six months before rejoining Brentford in January.

And, even in those six months away from the club, Canos believes the club has been moving forward in the right direction.

He said: “In my opinion, this club is growing in the right direction and I think I have noticed it myself.

“Some things have changed for the better. This club is getting bigger and a lot of people now know Brentford and how tough it is to play us and how well we play.

“The team is growing, the club is growing and that’s fantastic.”
