The Bees' nine-match unbeaten run was brought to a halt by Cardiff on Saturday afternoon as first half goals from Joe Ralls and Danny Ward gave the Bluebirds the win.

Brentford will, therefore, be looking to return to winning ways against a struggling Brewers side finding it hard to compete, especially financially, with their Championship rivals this season.

Sergi Canos has nearly doubled Brentford’s lead and his effort is deflected just wide of the post.

It was always going to be a moment of quality that Brentford needed in a game where they’ve lacked that spark. Canos provided that and Jozefzoon’s free kick was perfect

Brentford get into a muddle dealing with a Burton corner but just about clear their lines

Burton are playing for a 0-0 to a point. They’re looking to get forward when they can but, other than that, they’re looking to frustrate the Bees.

Neal Maupay wins a free kick and Stephen Bywater isn’t happy with the tactic of players standing in front of him. Barbet’s free kick is into the wall though.

A training ground corner is played low into the box before it is teed up for Yennaris. The final shot, though, went over the bar.

Mistake from Andreas Bjelland leads to a chance and it’s Romaine Sawyers who gets back to make the crucial interception. Great defending.

Burton are growing in confidence here and are starting to impose themselves but Brentford break and the cross is cut out. Brentford may be thinking that their best way is to draw them out.

Brentford are playing their usual attacking brand of football and trying to work their way through the Burton defence. The Brewers are standing firm though.
