Brentford were beaten 3-0 by Norwich City on Tuesday night but the scoreline does not tell the whole story.

The Bees were well on top in the first half and only some fine saves by Canaries keeper John Ruddy stopped them from going in front at the interval.

But the turning point came in the second half when Mark Warburton's side were 1-0 down.

Brentford were denied what looked a stonewall penalty when Alex Pritchard was scythed down in the box by Jos Hooiveld and the visitors promptly went up the other end and doubled their lead before adding a third shortly before the end.

The home side matched the visitors for long spells and emerged from the encounter with a lot of credit.

Skipper Jonathan Douglas was named man of the match in our interactive player ratings, receiving an average of 7.5/10.

He was closely followed by Alan Judge (7.3) and Pritchard (7.1). Substitutes Nick Proschwitz and Betinho (5) scored the lowest, as they failed to make an impact after coming off the bench.
