Brentford have been tipped to pick up a point in their season opener at Sheffield United by Sky Sports pundit David Prutton.

The Bees finished 10th last season and have recruited well over the summer months and there is a growing confidence at Griffin Park that a push for promotion can be achieved.

However, they arguably have been handed the worst fixture to start the season with the Blades coming off the back of winning the League One title and bringing up 100 points last term.

Predicting a 2-2 draw, Prutton told Sky Sports: “Sheffield United made very light work of League One and Chris Wilder will be chomping at the bit to see what his team can achieve back in the Championship.

“I think this will be an open, fun game with quite a few goals. Brentford have done well to hold on to their top players, and if they can build on their brilliant end to last season they could be a threat.”
