Lasse Vibe is in no hurry to start new contract talks but insists he is more than happy with life at Brentford .

While many of the Bees stars are tied down on longer term deals, the Dane has just one year left to run on his current contract.

Vibe, who has finished top scorer in both his two seasons with the club (jointly with Alan Judge in 2015-16), has had no discussions yet but expects to begin negotiations this summer.

He said: “No not really (had any talks). I've still got another year left and we will take it from there, I think we will evaluate it this summer.

“We all have individual meetings lined up, so will take it from there really. Yes (I'd like to stay), it's a nice club and a nice place to be.

“It's a really good place to be at the moment. We've got something good going on and a lot of good young players, so I'm happy.”

Great Dane: Vibe will have international duty for Denmark this summer

In each of his two years with the Bees Vibe has started on the back foot – having come straight into the first on the back of a Danish domestic season which runs through the summer months, and into the second having played for Denmark in the Rio Olympics.

There will be no full summer's rest this time around either for the Danish international, as Denmark have both a friendly against Germany and a World Cup qualifier against Kazakhstan coming up next month.

He added: “It's been a long season. I had a few knocks and came in late because of the Olympics, then missed five or six weeks because of my ankle, so there were ups and downs, but overall I'm happy how it went.

“I think I had a decent first season as well, but English football is difficult when you come from abroad. There's internationals this summer as well, so we'll have to see how it goes I terms of getting some rest.

“I think there's always circumstances and excuses or whatever, but I try to be as good as I can be every time I go out onto the pitch, and that's been my main thing this season.”
