Lasse Vibe has a very simple mission for his season at Brentford; improve on his last two campaigns.
His first season at Griffin Park saw him score 14 goals, but he went three months without finding the net at the start of 2016.
Last year saw Vibe score 15 Championship goals with all bar two coming after January as injury interrupted his season.
And the Dane is looking to have a better time of it this year and build on his pre-season campaign.
Vibe said: “I would like to do better than the last two years. My aim is to improve. You always get measured on the goals you scored.
“It all depends on luck. Last autumn I had an ankle injury and missed a few games. I think after 15 games I'd played two or three whereas others had a pre-season to build on as well. It's not realistic to say a goals target.”
Vibe's 2015 saw him join the Bees mid-season and last summer, he was off to Brazil to compete at the 2016 Olympics.
And a less congested pre-season may prove to be beneficial.
He added: “I hope it can help. I'd love to play better in the first six months of the season. When I first came here it was chaotic.
“I had three managers by December. There were a load of new players. I think I can do better than that and last year wasn't good for me injury wise.”
He added: “It's about me catching my own levels. I'd like to live up to that and not be a half-season player. I can't get carried away if it doesn't go right and stay positive and stay fit.”
