Dan Bentley knows that Bristol City will be no mugs when Brentford take them on on Saturday afternoon.

The Bees goalkeeper watched the Robins demolish promotion chasing Huddersfield 4-0 prior to the international break and he knows they will be a tough proposition.

City have struggled this season and Bentley has been told by one of his pals that they have not had the rub of the green.

He said: "It was on TV and I tend to watch whatever is going on on a Friday. The football comes in handy otherwise you'd be watching Coronation Street or Eastenders.

"I always watch the football and it's a nice way to switch off. In terms of Bristol City, we know they're no mugs and the league table shows they're down there scrapping for their lives.

"We know they have a lot of quality and perhaps their performances haven't reflected what they've got or deserved. Maybe a bit of luck has been against them.

"I know a Bristol City fan who says they've not had the luck. He'll be there on Saturday and I'm sure he'll give me abuse and singing 'Dan Bentley is a something that can't be published'."

Brentford were also amongst the goals last time out against Burton but, from Bentley's perspective he had mixed feelings after the 5-3 win at the Pirelli Stadium.

He explained: “I was very indifferent. It was very strange. It's not often you concede three and win. It was a mixed bag.

“I was disappointed to concede three goals. That was not something we wanted, especially after going 1-0 up.

“We get the goal and then we concede three shocking goals from a defensive point of view.

“Credit to the boys, we limited their opportunities and we were ruthless going forward. When we get it going, it's fairly unstoppable. There aren't many teams who can handle us.

“You see it in training and it's frightening. I was delighted from a team point of view and we came back from a losing position but definitely not happy we conceded three.”
