Sam Saunders is due to return to full training tomorrow ahead of Brentford's Easter weekend double-header against Preston and MK Dons.

The influential midfielder hasn't featured since the win against Port Vale in January due to a knee problem.

Saunders went under the knife the following month in a bid to fix the niggle and resumed light sessions last week.

The 30-year-old's return to the fold is a welcome boost for boss Mark Warburton as the Bees look to clinch promotion to the Championship.

Saunders scored four goals in five games before his injury, with the red-hot form earning him the League One Player of the Month prize for December.

He was on target in the 3-0 win at Deepdale and again as Brentford beat MK Dons at Griffin Park over the festive period.
