Brentford star relishing crunch World Cup qualifiers

The Danes face a daunting trip to Podgorica on Thursday where victory will lift them above their rivals into second spot

Brentford full back Henrik Dalsgaard is relishing Denmark's crunch World Cup qualifiers with Montenegro and then Romania.

The Danes face a daunting trip to Podgorica on Thursday where victory will lift them above their rivals into second spot.

The home game with Romania, taking place at the same time of Poland taking on Montenegro, could even see Denmark win the group.

And Dalsgaard believes they need to take the form picked up from their victories over Poland and Armenia.

“We just have to bring back that game I think we did against Poland and Armenia. If we can copy that I'm sure Montenegro will struggle,” he said.

“I just hope I'm playing. I'm really looking forward to it. It's sometimes good to go away and get some fresh air and come back with more confidence.”

Brentford have a group of Danish players at the club with defender Andreas Bjelland also in the squad.

Dalsgaard added: “It helps having a club and international team-mate, especially in the beginning as I don't feel new here anymore.

“Andreas and Lasse could take care of me and I went with Andreas for internationals. It's great to have some Danes here.”
