David Button and co will be putting their friendships with Moses Odubajo to one side as Brentford take him and his Hull City team on.

The full back left Griffin Park for Humberside in the summer after the Tigers matched his release clause.

Promotion favourites Hull are sitting in second spot in the Championship at this early stage of the season and weren't beaten in October.

But Button and the Bees will do everything they can to end that run tonight and continue Brentford's surge up the table.

He said: “Mo was a great player for us last year. He's gone on and got a move to a decent club so he was well liked in the dressing room and a good player but all the friendships will be put aside and we'll go out there and show him that Brentford are as good a team as the one he has gone too.

“Nobody would begrudge him moving on. I think sometimes that has to be put aside and, for the lads still here, it'd be nice to beat one of the bigger teams in the Championship.”

Departed: Moses Odubajo

Having claimed a first win in 50 years over QPR, Brentford fans could be forgiven for being in crowing mood but, for the players, taking down the Tigers is the most important thing now.

Button added: “For the players, we're already talking about the next game. Hopefully we can do that with another performance.

“Hopefully the fans enjoyed it. We're all in it together. Hopefully the fans, players and staff and enjoy it.”

Confidence has grown under Lee Carsley and the Bees have kept three clean sheets in a row and Button hailed goalscorer Marco Djuricin for his defensive work.

He explained: “I take pride in it. It starts from the front. Marco's work ethic summed it up. He didn't stop running.

“The defence and midfield were solid as well. From a defensive point of view it's been really pleasing.”
