Andre Gray played down any rivalry with Millwall striker Lee Gregory as Brentford prepare to face the Lions on Saturday.

Last season, the two strikers were going toe to toe for the golden boot in the Conference for Luton and Halifax Town respectively.

Gray won out by a single goal on that occasion with a penalty but both were handed a chance in the second tier of English football.

Although they were involved in a battle for top goalscorer last season, Gray has scored 15 while the Millwall man has five to his name.

But the Brentford striker was full of praise for his Millwall counterpart and warned his team-mates about the dangers Gregory poses.

He said: “Gregory is very physical and a good hold-up player. He's going to be a big threat to us.

“There wasn't really a rivalry between us. Both of us wanted to get the golden boot. They wanted the play-offs and we wanted to win the league, which we both did.”
