Daniel Bentley piled praise on Brentford's young full backs Josh Clarke and Tom Field.

The Bees duo started against Fulham after injuries to Maxime Colin and Rico Henry respectively.

And, although they struggled early on against the rampant Whites duo of Floyd Ayite and Ryan Sessegnon, the pair grew into the game so much that Slavisa Jokanovic withdrew the pair late in the contest.

And Bentley believes the pair have been brilliant on and off the pitch as they push Brentford's first choice players.

Josh Clarke on the ball

He said: “I'm not sure if that was because he didn't create anything as he was always a threat. I suppose from their point of view I suppose he wanted something slightly different.

“The two lads that have come in have done great. Rico has been a revelation since he's come in.

“He's been great and kept his place in the team, keeping the likes of Tom and Andreas out of the team.

“Clarkey came in for Maxime for the previous four games bar QPR. Max didn't make the game and Clarkey came in and did fantastic.

Tom Field

“They've been brilliant to be fair as it's a tough place to come and a tough team to face.”
