Rico Henry's aims and ambitions for the season are straightforward; score goals and help Brentford win promotion.

The 20-year-old scored three goals during his time at Walsall but didn't find the net when he featured for 12 games in red and white stripes during an injury-hit season.

And scoring and creating is something he wants to bring to his game in the Championship this season.

Henry said: “I want to score this season. I didn't last season. I know I only played 12 games but I think I had a few chances. This season I want to score and get a few assists.”

There is a growing feeling at Griffin Park that this Brentford team is capable of challenging for promotion this season.

And that is also the aim of the squad with Henry believing the Bees can do well over the next nine months.

“All of us want to get promoted. We want to take it game by game,” he added.

“I believe we can challenge at the top. We've kept our players and added to the squad. I see us doing well next season.”
