Florian Jozefzoon says Brentford are looking at the gap to the play-offs, rather than the distance between themselves and the bottom three.

The Bees, who sit in 18th, are six points behind sixth placed Aston Villa and six clear over Burton, who occupy the final relegation place.

And, for Jozefzoon, he is eager to see the full potential of the squad.

He said: “We're looking at the gap to the top six. We want to reach the full potential of this group.

“We don't know how far we have come but we have to do everything we can to reach our full potential. I believe we have a great team together and do nice things.”

One of the most pleasing things of the win at Preston was how Romaine Sawywers replaced the impressive but unconscious Nico Yennaris before the break and Brentford carried on as if the former Arsenal man was on the pitch.

Jozefzoon added: “It was a really hard game for us at Preston. We're pleased when someone comes off the bench you don't see the difference and that's the sign of a good team and keep the pressure.

“Everybody needs to know if somebody plays less there's someone that can come in directly.”
