Lasse Vibe came through 70 minutes in Brentford's 1-1 draw with Ipswich and he insists he still has enough in the tank for an intense run of fixtures before the March international break.

The Bees travel to Nottingham Forest tomorrow before hosting Huddersfield on Saturday and Wolves on Tuesday. They then travel to Burton Albion ahead of the two week hiatus.

Vibe missed the previous two games, the 2-1 win over Sheffield Wednesday and the 4-2 triumph against Rotherham, with a calf injury before returning to the starting XI at Portman Road.

The Brentford frontman said: “It's nice to be back. I feel good. We talked about it before the game with the gaffer and the medical staff.

“I was all right to play and I felt good. I was told to give it my best. I still feel good but we've got a lot of games coming up.”

He added: “It was difficult for us to play. We've struggled against these teams before such as Wigan and Preston.

“We've not been able to stay in the game and play at our best. We tried to play today and created a few chances. I feel we;'d have got the three points if a side was going to win.

In Vibe's absence, Romaine Sawyers has led the line for Brentford and the 30-year-old liked what he saw from the former Walsall man.

He explained: “I've been talking to him as well. He's an unselfish player who likes to set people up but it's difficult for him in an unnatural position and he's done really well.

“If he'd got a goal, he'd have more confidence and played even better. I think he's done really good and we got six points in two games with him as a striker. If I'm out, he'll be playing.”

Vibe was replaced by Justin Shaibu with 19 minutes remaining and the young striker has impressed in his brief cameos.

The Denmark international said: “I think last week, he showed what he's about. He's trying to get in behind.

“He doesn't mind running into people. He might be raw sometimes but he's got great physique.

“His pace is unbelievable and he's shown that he's capable of coming on and playing well in the Championship.”
