James Tarkowski knows he must keep performing if he is to remain in the Brentford side.

The Bees defender is in possession of the shirt at centre back but knows poor performances could see two of Harlee Dean , Tony Craig and Liam Moore taking the shirt.

He said: “They're three very good players and it's a tough choice for the manager to pick between the four but it's pushing us all together.

Dropped: Tony Craig

Liam has Premier League experience, while Harlee and Tony have been here for a long while and it's a tough choice the manager.”

Tarkowski had two months on the bench after he was suspended for picking up five yellow cards earlier in the season and he admitted it was difficult.

Eyes on the shirt: Brentford's Harlee Dean

He said: “It's not easy to be on the bench but I was sure there'd be a point where I wouldn't be playing.

I had to keep my head down. Ever since then I kept my spot and I've been happy with the way I've been playing.”
