Andreas Bjelland believes he is adapting to English football after making his second Championship appearance for Brentford.
The Dane missed last season after suffering an anterior cruciate injury against Oxford but has come on for Dean Smith's side in the past two games.
While he has been able to watch a lot of second tier football, he believes he needs to play it to improve on a bright first impression.
He said: “I think you learn by doing. I think you can watch a lot but you need to try it. It was good to come in in the last game and at Brighton to get some minutes.”
While Bjelland's injury was obviously a major blow to Brentford last year, it did aid the defender in settling into English life off the pitch.
He added: “It's never good to get injured but you have to find the positives. Hopefully the year helped me get stronger. I know my way around west London so I'm ready to play football.”
