Brentford slipped to a 3-2 defeat at Blackburn as Harlee Dean's own goal decided matters after Scott Hogan and Danny Graham bagged two goals each.

The Bees had led inside the first minute but a quickfire double from the Rovers striker turned the tables.

Hogan equalised again but a Dean own goal was what decided matters as the Bees failed to seriously test Jason Steele in the Rovers goal during the second 45 minutes, despite having the territory and possession.

Brentford have been slow starters this season but, after 33 seconds, found themselves in front.

Lasse Vibe picked out Hogan and he slotted the ball past Steele in the Rovers goal to give the Bees the lead.

That wasn't to last as the visitors were pegged back by the aerial bombardment and Danny Graham had the freedom of the penalty area to equalise 17 minutes later.

As conditions worsened, Brentford continued to struggle and Josh Clarke brought down Corry Evans in the box – Graham slotted home from the penalty spot.

The rain eased and Brentford finally showed their passing game as Yennaris teed up Hogan to equalise.

But the heavens opened again and when John Egan gave the ball away in the middle and as the cross came in Dean turned the ball into his own net to give Rovers a half time lead.

Craig Conway, booked in the first half, was exceedingly fortunate not to receive his marching orders for a cynical challenge to deny a Brentford counter attack.

The Bees passed, passed and passed but failed to show any flair and Rovers were able to resist whatever was thrown at them.
