Dean Smith is likely to ring the changes for Brentford's Carabao Cup game with Norwich with a hectic 10 days to follow.

The Bees will then travel to Bolton on Saturday, host Derby the following Tuesday before making the trip to Middlesbrough on September 30 ahead of the international break.

And this will impact on the Bees' head coach's thinking going into the game against the Canaries.

He said: “We always knew it's going to be a seven game month. Following Norwich we've got Bolton, Derby and then a trip to Middlesbrough.

“We've had three B team players (Chris Mepham, Theo Archibald and Justin Shaibu) on the subs bench. We need to make sure we're prepared for Bolton as well.”

Henrik Dalsgaard is a doubt after he was knocked unconscious at Sheffield Wednesday last Tuesday.

Smith added: “I don't think he's automatically out. I'll be guided by the medical side of it. He has to go through a process.

“He's back driving and he'll be training. He won't be in contact training but we'll be guided to make sure we're involved.”
