Dean Smith has confirmed that he will make changes when Brentford travel to AFC Wimbledon in the first round of the Carabao Cup.
The Bees have been beaten in the first round of the last two seasons and, on both occasions, they have named a much changed team.
However, given the strength in depth of the squad at Smith's disposal, this will be seen as an important fixture in order to give as many members of the squad minutes.
Smith said: “I think the month dictates changes and players who have worked hard for five or six weeks in pre-season have to play six or seven games in a short space of time so we will make changes but we've got a good enough squad to be able to do that.”
Harlee Dean, who was suspended for the opening day defeat at Sheffield United, is expected to return to the side.
Luke Daniels, Yoann Barbet, Maxime Colin, Romaine Sawyers, Nico Yennaris, Ollie Watkins and Neal Maupay are all expected to start for the Bees.
Reece Cole and Josh Clarke plus a number of players in the B team could all also feature for the west Londoners.
