Alan Judge scored twice as Brentford beat Rotherham to secure their first win under Lee Carsley.

Just 67 seconds had passed when Farrend Rawson’s headed clearance dropped to Judge on the edge of the box as he cushioned a sublime volley over Lee Camp and into the top corner.

Joe Mattock equalised for Rotherham just one minute into the second half with a powerful strike into the top left hand corner.

In the 56th minute, though, Judge was left unmarked to head home his second of the match from Jake Bidwell’s excellent cross.

Carsley was delighted with Brentford's character after the victory.

“It's great for the players and the staff and they have had a tough time of it. It's good to get the win,” he said.

“It was a great reaction from equalising. During the 90 minutes you're going to get disappointment.

“We showed belief and maybe at 1-1, when you concede so quickly after losing two on the bounce. They showed a lot of resilience today, especially the centre backs."
