Brentford players will find out what their future holds this week when they hold meetings with the club.

The Bees had scheduled end of season meetings for the week after the Reading game but these were pushed back after reaching the play-offs.

With the season now over following a 5-1 aggregate loss to Middlesbrough in the play-offs and the club appointing Rasmus Ankersen and Phil Giles as co-directors of football the players will now be told whether they have a future.

Nick Proschwitz and Tommy Smith are out of contract and it is likely the pair will be released, while Betinho, Jon Toral, Alex Pritchard will return to their parent clubs after their loans come to an end. Goalkeeper Richard Lee has retired from football.

It is likely to provide a chance for the players under contract to find out what the future will hold for them.

Brentford have already started their summer overhaul with Akaki Gogia signing on a free transfer with more set to follow the former Germany U19 international to Griffin Park.
