Brentford will be informally presenting a new plan for Lionel Road South to Hounslow Council on August 24, with the capacity being reduced to around 17,500.

The stadium will be redesigned and there will be minor material amendments to the scheme with the reduced capacity designed to enhance the public realm and community use floor space.

The club will also look to make minor changes to the residential development, although there will be no increase in residents, while redesigning the ground floor commercial spaces to provide more active frontages.

It should be noted that no decision will be made at this juncture and it is to provide the council with details on the proposed changes.

The Hounslow Council website explains: “Planning Development Presentations are an opportunity for Members to hear presentations by developers about the early stages of a major development, prior to the application being presented to the Planning Committee.

“Although the presentations are primarily for the Planning Committee Members other Members with an interest or members of the public are also welcome to attend.

“This is not a formal meeting so there are no minutes or record of attendance.

“Information about forthcoming presentations can, however, be found in the Monthly Update Report, which is presented to the Planning Committee at the meeting prior to the Planning Development Presentation.”

Brentford have confirmed they will make a full update to fans with details of some planned planning amendments early next week.
